Hi, I’m Katelyn Miraglia.
Hi, I’m Katelyn, Licensed Occupational Therapist and Certified Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist, and founder of Revive & Thrive Myofunctional Therapy.
I specialize in helping children and adults improve breathing, oral function, sleep, and overall well-being by addressing the underlying patterns that influence how the tongue, jaw, face, and body function together.
Many of the clients I work with struggle with issues such as mouth breathing, snoring, sleep-disordered breathing, TMJ tension, tongue ties, orthodontic relapse, chewing or swallowing difficulties, and postural imbalances. My approach focuses on restoring healthier function through personalized, whole-person care that supports lasting change — not just symptom management.
As both an occupational therapist and myofunctional therapist, I view the body through a holistic lens, recognizing the deep connection between breathing, posture, nervous system regulation, airway health, and daily function.
How my story shaped my passion
My passion for this work comes from personal experience. Long before I became a myofunctional therapist, I was navigating many of the same airway, jaw, and structural challenges that I now help others understand.
From an early age, I developed patterns and habits that I would later discover were intricately connected and correlated with airway dysfunction. To name a few — prolonged thumb sucking, bottle feeding, camouflage orthodontic treatment, headgear, mouth breathing, scoliosis, postural dysfunction, among others — I had no idea how connected these patterns were, or how significantly they could influence breathing, facial growth, sleep, and overall quality of life.
By my late twenties, my health had reached a breaking point. I began experiencing debilitating jaw joint pain, chronic fatigue, insomnia, and worsening airway dysfunction. I was eventually diagnosed with degenerative joint disease in my jaw joints and obstructive sleep apnea — diagnoses that ultimately changed the course of my life and deepened my understanding of how interconnected the body truly is.
To reclaim my health, I underwent bilateral total jaw joint replacement surgery followed by extensive rehabilitation, including a tongue tie release. That journey transformed not only my physical health, but also my purpose. It gave me firsthand insight into how profoundly breathing, tongue posture, jaw development, and whole-body alignment can impact daily life.
Today, through Revive & Thrive, I bring both clinical knowledge and lived experience into my work. My goal is to help clients better understand the root causes of dysfunction while providing compassionate, individualized care that supports healthier breathing, improved function, and long-term wellness.
Outside of my work, I enjoy exploring the natural beauty of the Santa Cruz mountains, spending time with family, and throwing clay on my pottery wheel. I believe healing is deeply personal — and that when we support the body as a whole, we create the foundation for people to truly thrive.
